All the squad players, support staff and officials from Chennai Super Kings were asked to stay under home isolation for an extended period. On the other hand, this news is clearly jeopardizing the event itself at the moment.

Chennai Super Kings were the only team who have conducted a training camp before flying to Dubai. However, it seems likely that this camp could have been the point where many of the reported cases would have been infected.

Amidst this chaos, Chennai Super Kings also suffered another blow in Suresh Raina. The CEO KS Viswanathan has confirmed the 33-year old will be returning back to India due to personal reasons. The team will be without Suresh Raina for the entirety of IPL 2020.

“Suresh Raina has returned to India for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of the IPL season. Chennai Super Kings offers complete support to Suresh and his family during this time,” Chennai Super Kings CEO KS Viswanathan confirmed.

At least Four Franchises Have Started Training in Dubai

After completing their isolation, at least four teams are currently preparing for IPL 2020. This news is a major boost for the fans as the teams are gearing up with team training.

In order to start team training, players and staff need to undergo six day quarantine period and take three PCR tests. If all the tests return negative result then the team will be allowed for open training.

Meanwhile, Chennai can return to team training by September 1st at the latest. The members who have contracted Corona virus will undergo 14 day isolation in Dubai. If they report negative in the tests, then they will be slowly integrated into the team’s plans for latter matches in the season.
