India and England are playing in the third test in the ongoing test series of four test matches. This test is a day night game unlike the first two matches.
The match is being played in the new stadium of Motera in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
English skipper won the toss and elected to bat first. However, his decision to bat first did not turn out to be great. They lost their first wicket for just 2 runs on the board. The opener Dom Sibley was dismissed by Ishant who is playing his 100th test match.
England were still trying to stabilize the innings when Akshar Patel came on to bowl. The left arm spinners struck with his first ball. His straight arm ball confused the English number 3 Jonny Bairstow. The batter tried to defend it with a full face of the bat but was beaten as the ball beat his defense. As soon as the ball hit his pad, Bairstow was adjudged LBW.
Bairstow reviewed immediately but still could not save the wicket. The third umpire did not have anything for which he could have overturned the decision as he sent the batsman packing on his way.
Bairstow too like Sibley was dismissed for a duck!
