The English batsman decided to pull out of the tournament due to fitness problems. With no cricket for some time, the cricketer believes he wanted more time to work on his fitness.
On the other hand, he suffered a left side strain and missed the recent T20I series against Pakistan. Roy has asked Delhi Capitals to exclude him from IPL 2020. He was bought by the franchise for his base price of Rs. 1.5 crore.
Delhi Capitals have replaced him by signing Australian left-arm fast bowler Daniel Sams. The absence of Roy might not be felt as Delhi have a very good batting unit.
