Just when everyone though IPL 2020 has overcome all the hurdles, Delhi Capitals’ Assistant physio was tested positive on Sunday. The league was in serious jeopardy when Chennai Super Kings camp had 13 positive cases last week.

However, there was not a single case after that as BCCI finally announced the IPL schedule for 2020 on Sunday. This means that the franchise becomes the third team to have a corona case so far. Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings were the other two with corona cases. The team has confirmed the assistant physio traveled separately this week and was tested negative in his first two tests.

However, during his last PCR test in the mandatory six day isolation, the physio was tested positive in his final test on Day 6. The team management has revealed that the person in discussion was isolated immediately and was sent to a separate hotel.

“He was isolated immediately, and is currently at the IPL Isolation Facility in Dubai for the next 14 days, at the end of which he will have to produce two negative reports for him to be able to join the Delhi Capitals squad. The franchise’s medical team is in constant touch with him, and wishes him a speedy recovery,” the release stated.

As per the tournament’s existing SOP, the person will now undergo 14 day quarantine period. He will have his another corona test on Day 10 during his extended quarantine. Delhi Capitals will play their first match against Kings XI Punjab on September 20.

Delhi Daredevils Have Strongest Indian Batting Lineup

The Delhi team is one of the strongest in this upcoming IPL. They have top Indian talent coupled with experienced Indian cricketers. In fact, they can field a side with 8 or 9 Indians if needed and need not necessarily use the 4 overseas slots.

Their batting lineup is arguably the best Indian lineup amongst all the teams. The likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant makes an eye watering batting order for opposition bowlers.

All of them are match winners on their own right. On the other hand, they have a good all rounder in Axar Patel and experienced campaigner like Amit Mishra. All in all, this Delhi Capitals side looks more complete than any other sides in the last decade.

Despite all this, Delhi are the only team that are yet to reach the IPL final from the existing IPL teams. But you can never rule them out from winning as they look very strong on paper heading into IPL 2020.
