Chennai Super Kings CEO KS Viswanathan has confirmed Suresh Raina will be unavailable for IPL 2020 for personal reasons. He also revealed that the southpaw returned back to India.
The 33-year old had flew to Dubai along with his teammates last week and was part of home isolation regulations. However, the exact reason for his return to India is unknown.
“Suresh Raina has returned to India for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of the IPL season. Chennai Super Kings offers complete support to Suresh and his family during this time,” Chennai Super Kings CEO KS Viswanathan confirmed.

This is a massive blow to Chennai Super Kings team. Suresh Raina is undoubtedly their most prolific run scorer. He has not only been run scorer but also delivered in every single IPL season.
On the other hand, there has been news about CSK player tested positive yesterday. As per the reports and trends on social media, Deepak Chahr looks like the player to have contracted the virus.
It will be a difficult time for Chennai Super Kings to prepare and focus on IPL 2020 amidst all this chaos. The team are currently undergoing extended isolation in UAE after more than 10 members in the franchise were reportedly infected.
There were tests taken on Friday and the team could start training on Sunday or later if all the reports come out to be negative. Fans left disappointed to see Raina not feature in IPL 2020 but they sent their superstar good wishes.
Chennai Super Kings Might Struggle To Find Raina Replacement
Despite all the chaos, Chennai Super Kings face a daunting task of finding an ideal replacement for Suresh Raina. It is not going to get any easier in the coming days, especially since IPL is looming closer.

He is one of the core players in this franchise and has been associated with Chennai Super Kings since 2008. He is fondly called by fans as “Chinna Thala”. But his unavailability meant Chennai needs to change team composition to a great extend and find an overseas replacement for him in next few days.
On the other hand, Suresh Raina was eager to prove his credentials with a proper IPL outing after announcing his international retirement. However, things did not turn out as expected both for the player and fans alike.
