Royal Challengers Bangalore have set a target of 205 runs for the Kolkata Knight Riders. Batting first, Royal Challengers Bangalore had a poor start with the bat. The captain and opener Virat Kohli was out for a single digit score. The number 3 Rajat Patidar too was dismissed at the score of 9 leaving the innings of Royal Challengers Bangalore in a bit tricky position.

However Devdutt Padikkal and Glenn Maxwell together forged a partnership of 86 runs. Then AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell added a quickfire 52 runs for the fourth wicket. The two main Heroes of Royal Challengers Bangalore batting were Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers. While Maxwell made 78 in 49 deliveries that had 9 fours and three 6s, it was AB De Villiers who provided the impetus at the end. He smacked 76 in 34 deliveries. Also, Kyle Jamieson struck 11 runs in four balls in a cameo.

His innings contained 9 fours and 3 sixes. Chakravarthy was the pick of the bowlers for Kolkata Knight Riders. He picked up two wickets by giving 39 runs in 4 overs while Prasidh Krishna was the most economical. He gave away 31 runs in his four overs. However, one shot which stole the moment was Ab De Villiers colossal 6 to Andre Russell.

Gigantic AB six!

AB completed his 50 by hitting a huge six to Harbhajan Singh over extra cover. Such lovely was the shot that Virat Kohli started smiling and clapping at that shot. Not only Kohli, AB’s wife and Chahal’s wife Dhanashree too clapped loudly at that shot as AB raised his bat after hitting 50. Then, AB saved his best for the last.

Russell was bowling the last over of the innings. On the second ball of the over Russell came from round the wicket and tried to bowl a wide Yorker. But he missed it altogether as the ball came out as a full toss. Ab De Villiers was ever ready for it. He quickly sat down on one knee in a typical AB style and smashed the ball soaring over mid-wicket. The ball just disappeared into the stands.

The six was more than 90 meters as Russell missed his line and AB de Villiers made him pay the price for it. This wasn’t enough as De Villiers hit two more boundaries in the next four deliveries over third man and straight over the bowlers head. It made sure that the Royal Challengers Bangalore finished with a score of more than 200 runs. They reached a total of 204 in their allotted 20 overs.
