Virat Kohli is one of the most fiery and angry characters on a cricket field. Often his animated gestures and imposing body language puts others in a bit of awe. His responses to the culprit after a missed run out chance, dropped catches and slow fielding or a bad ball is not the most watchable thing on a live TV or in a stadium.
Not only that, he gets angry even at himself after he plays rash shots and admonishes and curses himself for doing so. This particular trait of Virat Kohli was once again visible in today’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chennai.
The incident happened in the 13th over when Virat Kohli was well set and looked good for a fifty. He had played a sheet anchor role as others played shots around him as he held one end up for the Royal Challengers.
Kohli hits the chair after getting out!
Bangalore were sitting pretty at 91-2 after 12 overs. Kohli and an aggressive Maxwell had formed a decent partnership and setting the stage for a final onslaught. However, Holder had other ideas.
The first ball of the 13th over was a rising delivery at Kohli by Jason Holder. He immediately went in a position to hook the ball. But, he mistimed the shot due to poor judgement and the ball went straight up in the air. The fielder below the catch was Vijay Shankar and he made no mistake in catching the ball.
A well set Virat Kohli was out at fine leg and the idea of taking the partnership deep into innings was broken. Needless to say, the skipper was really angry over his shot. However, what he did later created headlines on social media as his reaction went viral.
While walking back to the pavilion, he hit the boundary ropes with his bat. If that was not enough, He even hit the chair kept in the RCB dugout. Such powerful was his blow to the chair with his bat is that the chair fell from where it was kept. Consequently, everyone was astonished to see the angry reaction of Virat Kohli on the chair.
