Chennai Super Kings have gotten the best possible start against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Deepak Chahar was in full flow in the opening spell against SRH on Friday.
Having won the toss, David Warner decided to bat first against Chennai Super Kings. However, Deepak Chahar managed to swing the ball in both ways. Jonny Bairstow has been the talisman for Sunrisers in IPL 2020 so far.
Chahar managed to set up Bairstow with two outswingers before an inswinger which crashed into the stumps of Bairstow. The English cricketer had no clue as he was playing it for outswing. Chahar has managed to provide much needed breakthrough for CSK as Bairstow is the best batter in SRH’s lineup this season.
Bairstow was dismissed for a duck. Meanwhile, Chahar continued to disrupt rhythm of SRH batsmen with his superb opening spell. He was so effective today, that Dhoni decided to bowl him for 3 overs inside the powerplay.

Sunrisers Hyderabad are trying to construct their innings after Bairstow’s wicket. They are reeling at 47/2 at the time of writing from 7 overs.
On the other hand, a win in this match is needed for both the teams. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings managed to win only one game in their opening three matches so far. They are currently in the bottom two places in points table.
A win in this match would propel either side to continue their momentum into the coming matches. Chennai Super Kings did not win their last two matches and are looking to get back into winning ways. The return of Ambati Rayudu would definitely fix most of their batting woes.
Meanwhile, Sunrisers are yet to find the right balance with the injury to Vijay Shankar. They are currently reliant on young Abhishek Sharma to bowl as fifth bowler. But the return of form to their premier bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Rashid Khan should keep them in good stead.
Chennai Super Kings have traditionally been the heavyweights in this fixture. They won 9 out of 12 matches between the two teams and will look to extend their run. In the last six games, CSK were very dominant and won 5 games.
