India won the first T20 match against Sri Lanka by 38 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the 3 match series. In the second match, India might miss out on two players. These players are Prithvi Shaw and Surya Kumar Yadav. Both of them have been called to the Indian team for the test series in England where they will replace the injured players. Hence we could see at least two changes in the second T20 compared to first.

Top Order

1 ) Shikhar Dhawan –  He is the first player that will be on the team sheet for India. Not only is he the senior most player in the team, he will also lead the Indian side. Dhawan has played 66 T20s with a healthy average of 28 and a strike rate of 128. The southpaw has more than 1700 runs and 11 half centuries to his name. Also he was the second highest scorer for India in the first T20 with 46 runs.

2 ) Devdutt Padikkal – The left handed opener from Karnataka was phenomenal in Vijay Hazare trophy and then in the IPL. He scored heavily in both the tournaments. Hence he was given the chance in the Indian team when most of senior players were missing. The southpaw could very well make his debut in the second T20.

3 ) Sanju Samson – Sanju Samson looked good while he was at the crease as he made 27 runs in 20 balls. But in typical style, he threw his wicket away like most of his previous matches. This inconsistence has plagued his career and has stopped him from becoming a permanent member of the team despite being abundantly talented.

4 ) Manish Pandey – The 31 year old could play the match instead of Surya Kumar Yadav who would be departing for England. Hence he would be expected to play the similar role which Yadav played in the first game.

Middle order

5 ) Ishan Kishan – The left hander looked in great touch in the first game. Facing 14 balls at the death, he smashed 20 runs with one six and a four. He would be looking forward to continue the same performance.

6 ) Hardik Pandya – The big hitting allrounder has been terribly out of form in the entire tour. He could not do much in the ODI series and bowled only few overs. Even in the first T20 he struggled to time the ball in the death overs. Also he was expensive with the ball and dropped a catch too. He would be looking to get in best possible form before the world T20 begins.

7 ) Bhuvaneshwar Kumar – The right arm swing bowler is the most experienced for India which showed in the first match. He picked up 4 wickets for 22 runs and won the match for India.

Bowlers

8 ) Krunal Pandya – The senior Pandya will look bowled 2 overs for 16 runs in the first match and picked up the first wicket of Sri Lanka. He also would be looking to contribute more in the second game.

9 ) Deepak Chahar – The 28 year old took 2 wickets and bowled a decisive 16th over which killed the game for Sri Lanka. He took 2 wickets in the over and gave just 6 runs while his batting was not needed in the first match.

10 ) Varun Chakrvarthy – The mystery spinner from Karnataka had a decent outing in his maiden game. He took his international wicket when  Dasun Shanaka was stumped off his bowling. He returned with figures of 4-0-28-1.

11 ) Yuzvendra Chahal – The leggie was the most economical bowler for India in the first match. He had the stats of 4-0-19-1 and tied the hosts with his brilliant bowling.
