Chennai Super Kings won their match, against Punjab Kings in some style. It was a great day for the boys in yellow as, whatever they touched turned into gold.
First it was the captain MS Dhoni, who was playing his 200th match, for Chennai Super Kings. He won the toss, and sent in Punjab Kings to bat first. It was a great tactical decision as The wicket was, a bit sticky and swinging.
Needless to say, the bowlers made the maximum use of it and the, top order of Punjab Kings was blown, away by the bowlers of Chennai. By the time, power play ended, Punjab Kings had just made 27 runs and had, lost half of their team.
The match was as good as over, in the first six over itself. After that, it was just a case of a mere formality. Somehow, Punjab Kings stretched, there score to 106 and the back of one man show, by Shahrukh Khan. He made 47 runs.
Dhoni gets emotional after the win
Chasing hundred and seven runs was, not too difficult for Chennai as, they easily chased the target in 15 overs and four balls, with the loss of 4 wickets. It was a great victory for Chennai, who suffered the ignominy of, not being able to qualify for the playoff, in IPL history.
After the match, Dhoni was quite emotional about playing 200 games for, his franchise Chennai Super Kings. He says that, it is a great achievement to have played 200 games for the same franchise. Since 2008, it’s been 13 years since I first played for CSK, but I can still recall the first match.
Then he recounts the various stadiums, in which he has played the matches, for Chennai. It, includes South Africa and Dubai. Then, Dhoni presents his views about Deepak Chahar, Moeen Ali, the wicket of Chennai and other things which he would like to have.
It also includes one, more Trophy for Chennai before they retire and when, being asked that what, is the most suitable condition for Chennai bowlers to which, he says that a good wicket, should be able to support both, the spinners and pacers.
