The Indian team is preparing in full flow for the finals of World Test Championship vs New Zealand at Southampton. Accordingly, they are playing an intra squad practice match that would last 4 days. The two teams consists of 24 players which the Indian team had taken with them for the long tour. One of the team is led by Indian skipper Virat Kohli while other side is captained by KL Rahul. Although, it is a surprise that Rahul is leading the side since fans expected Ajinkya Rahane to lead the other team. Moreover, its not certain that Rahul would even be in the playing 11 of first choice Indian team.

 

In the match, Rishabh Pant continued his red hot form on which he is riding since the Australian tour of India. According to the official Twitter account of BCCI, Pant hit a scintillating century. The explosive wicket keeper batsman smashed 121* from just 94 deliveries in true Pant style. Also, the potential opener in the finals, Shubhman Gill made 85 in 135 balls. For the bowling side, Ishant Sharma took 3 wickets for 36 runs.

Mouth Watering Clash!

The problem with this practice match is that there is no telecast of it anywhere. Also, the BCCI has not released any score card of the match. So, fans have no idea about the other things happening in the match. Hence, they have to depend upon the official Twitter account of the BCCI for updates of the match. Two days have passed in the match with 2 more to go.

Other updates posted by BCCI includes Rishabh Pant coming down the track and hitting a straight six. Also, they released a video of Virat Kohli trying his hands at bowling as the Indian captain can be seen bowling his dibbly dobblers. Moreover, India’s 24 year old net bowler Avesh Khan was bowling to Cheteshwar Pujara and troubling the number 3 batsman with his pace and swing, in a video uploaded by BCCI.

Meanwhile, in a dangerous news for India, their opponents in the final, New Zealand has brushed aside hosts England in the second test by 8 wickets to win the match and the series. In the kind of red hot form New Zealand is, it shall be a cracker of a contest in the winner takes all clash from 18 June.
