Watch : Pictures of team India as they begin preparations for the test series in England.

After a gap of 20 days, all the members of Indian team have re assembled at a single place. Following a defeat in World Test Championship finals vs New Zealand, all the players were given a break. This was done in order to refresh the Indian team so that they can be both mentally and physically ready for the grueling test series vs England.

The test series vs England will be a 5 match series. After a disappointment in the ICC Test championships, Indian team would be itching to go out there in the field and perform to their potential in the test series. Moreover India have not won a test series in England for 14 years now.

Their last series victory in England was way back in 2007 under Rahul Dravid. Then, India had won a 3 test match series by 1-0. After that India struggled the entire last decade in England. They lost 0-4 in 2011, 1-3 in 2014 and 1-4 in 2018. This time thorough India have a brilliant pace and spin attack. Hence they would be eying a series victory against an England lineup with brittle batting.

Team India back in action!

In the 20 days break, while some players went to different parts of UK, some stayed in England. Also, they enjoyed different sporting events which happened in England. This includes Wimbledon trophy in Tennis and Euro – Cup in Soccer. Rishabh Pant was one similar player who saw the Euro Cup. On the other hand it was Ashwin who had a view of Wimbledon matches from the stands at tennis court.

Now all the Indian players are back in bio-bubble. Each one of them went through a couple of negative RT-PCR tests and were eligible to join the bio bubble. Rishabh Pant, Wriddhiman Saha and Abhimanyu Easwaran won’t be a part of the bio-bubble as they are under isolation for past few days.

India is scheduled to play a practice game against select County 11. This game starts in Durham from 20 July and would be India’s only practice game.

The test series begins from 4 July.
