Delhi Capitals have won their game against Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets. They chased down the target of 138 runs in 19.1 overs for the loss of four wickets. Shimron Hetmyer and Lalit Yadav  remained unbeaten till the end as they finished the chase in a clinical fashion. Hetmyer made 14 runs in 9 deliveries. Lalit Yadav finished with 22 runs for the match.

Shikhar Dhawan top scored for Delhi for the game in running. He made 45 runs in 42 balls. He hit five fours and a six. For Mumbai, Jayant Yadav was the pick of the bowlers. He took 1 wicket and gave 25 runs in his quota of 4 overs.

Earlier, Mumbai collapsed from a position of strength to a timid score. At one stage, they looked well set to make a total in excess of 160 when they were at 67-1 in 6.5 overs. However, this is when Surya Kumar Yadav was dismissed by Avesh Khan. After that, none of the new batsman from Mumbai could settle at the crease and they kept losing wickets.

Amit Mishra bowled beautifully as he took 4 wickets for 24 runs in his four overs. Such devastating was his bowling that Mumbai had no answers to him and they ended up at a below par score of 137-9 in 20 overs.

Pant kicks the ball!

During all this, a funny moment came which involved Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan, the two wicket keepers. It was the 12th over of the innings and Mumbai were reeling at 82-5. Pollard and Kishan were batting and Mishra was bowling this over.

On the third ball of this over, Mishra bowled a loopy delivery to Kishan. He tried to sweep it but the ball beat his attempt, brushed him and went slowly along the ground to Pant. The keeper expected that Kishan would not be in his crease. So, he kicked the ball on to the stumps without trying to pick the ball and hitting the stumps down.

However Ishan Kishan had not left his crease and was found to be safe. But it was a good ploy by Pant to test Ishan Kishan’s fortune and his own football skills.
