Team India are facing unprecedented situation in the ongoing test series against Australia. The team was hit with injuries left, right and centre. Going into the final test in Brisbane, India was forced to leave out Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin from the final XI.
Both the players have played an important role in the third test in Sydney. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja had suffered a thumb injury and underwent a surgery ruling him out for few weeks.
Further injuries to Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav has left India on their bare bones to play in the final test. In fact India gave debuts to youngsters T Natarajan and finger spinner Washington Sundar.
The bowling unit has a combined experience of four test matches. But India faced another massive blow during the first day because Navdeep Saini was forced to pull out with another injury.
Saini walked off the field during 36th over after bowling a brilliant ball to Marnus Labuschagne. But Indian skipper Ajinkya Rahane failed to latch onto the catch. Saini looked very strong with his bowling so far.
He was very economical and bowled brilliant lines at Brisbane. He pulled out of bowling and the physio came running in to check on him. Then they decided to leave the ground to better assess the injury and treat him accordingly.
Meanwhile, veteran cricketer Rohit Sharma came to bowling in a rare instance to complete the over. This series has been a very bad for India as they lost players like Shami, Umesh Yadav, KL Rahul, Hanuma Vihari, Ashwin, Bumrah, Jadeja and Virat Kohli (personal reasons).

Had India been with a complete side for the final test, then the things would be much spicier at Brisbane. Australia are favorites simply because they have a much experienced bowling unit.
For example, Nathan Lyon is playing his 100th test today while entire Indian bowling attack has 4 tests experience. The Indian bowlers are doing a brilliant job despite their no experience in test cricket.
India managed to dismiss David Warner in the first over and then continued their dominance to an extent. Labuschagne is looking good as Australia are at 110/3 at the time of writing.
