Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma had a forgettable first test against England. After not able to make a mark in India’s loss, Rohit Sharma came out with intent to make some good runs today at Chennai.
After winning a crucial toss, skipper Virat Kohli decided to bat first. But the hosts were put on a back foot immediately when Olly Stone picked up Shubhman Gill for 0. Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara then ensured India were back in the game with 85 partnership.
In the 12th over during the innings, Ben Stokes came onto bowl. He delivered a short delivery but the ball did not have the bounce on a slow Chennai wicket. Rohit Sharma has been one of the best pullers in the game for a while.
He did not miss the opportunity to score runs and pounced on it immediately. Rohit pulled the ball and cleared the fielders at deep square leg. The opener has played some scintillating shots so far and India will be hoping he will score a massive ton.

Both Rohit Sharma and Pujara managed to put on a decent partnership. However, visitors stuck back to back by dismissing Pujara and Virat Kohli immediately. India were reeling at 86/3 before Ajinkya Rahane joined Rohit Sharma in the middle.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma is playing some fearless cricket and scored almost 75% runs of Indian batsmen in the opening session of first day. The hosts will be hoping to score a mammoth first innings total which remains the key.
Rohit will look to convert this start into a massive hundred as he failed to do so since coming back to the team in Australia. He played brilliantly on most occasions but gave away his wicket cheaply at times.
India made so big changes going into the test match. Young pacer Mohammed Siraj came back into the team in place of Jasprit Bumrah. On the other hand, Washington Sundar and Shahbaz Nadeem were also dropped in favor of two left arm spinners Kuldeep Yadava and Axar Patel.
Although Sundar was brilliant with the bat, India are fancying their chances by going with five spinners and Axar as bowling all rounder. The hosts are under pressure to deliver but England are hoping to win yet another test match on the road
