Sanju Samson played a captain’s knock vs Kolkata Knight Riders in today’s match, played at Wankhede stadium, Mumbai. First, he won the toss and elected to field first. It was a decision that, proved to be correct. The bowlers of Rajasthan did exceptionally well, to restrict Kolkata to a score of 133-9.

After that, the target of 134 runs was chased down with 8 balls remaining. It was, a victory that was achieved, without breaking a sweat. The captain Sanju Samson remained, not out till the end and made sure, he finishes the game off for Rajasthan.

The first ball Samson faced, was creamed through covers for a four. Varun Chakravarthy was bowling this over. His second four, came against Shivam Mavi who was flicked, fine through short fine leg for a four.

Samson’s first and only six, came against Pat Cummins. It was, the ninth over of the innings. Cummins, bowled a short delivery on to the hips of Sanju Samson. Hence, the batsman quickly went on the back foot and pumped, the ball over square leg though a pull shot.

With Samson fully set, he then easily took his team to victory alongside David Miller. Moreover, the two added 34 runs without, getting separated as Rajasthan won the match.

After the match was over, Morgan said that the batting was a letdown. They should have, scored more runs than what they eventually managed. According to Morgan, the Kolkata Knight Riders were short by 40 runs. He said that it was too much to ask, from the bowlers as the target was, too less to be competitive.

Sanju Samson, the winning captain was happy after earning his second victory of the season. They will, look to continue the performances like this and gain some more victories. Also, he was all praises for star all rounder, Chris Morris. Also, Samson said that, Morris is a positive and chilled out person, which is a good thing to have. Moreover, he hopes that, Morris would win more matches for them in near future and they are looking forward to it.
