India have made a total of 132 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs in the second game vs Sri Lanka. The pitch seems to be dry, two paced and the odd ball is sticking on the wicket. Hence chasing is not going to be easy on this pitch. The Sri Lankan captain won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Rituraj Gaikwad and Shikhar Dhawan opened the innings for India. The duo started comfortable and added 49 runs in 7 overs. Gaikwad played some catchy shots but was dismissed while trying to play a pull shot. He made 21 runs in 18 balls and was sent back to the pavilion by the Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka. The bowler bowled a short ball as Gaikwad attempted to pull. However he was beaten by the pace and could only give a simple catch to the wicket keeper.

Dedvdutt Padikkal played two gorgeous shots for a four and a six. However he was dismissed while playing another big stroke. The south paw made 29 runs in 23 balls. Also the Indian captain Shikhar Dhawan played the role of fulcrum of the batting as he made a 42 ball 40. He looked fluent but had to restrain himself due to India having just 5 batsmen.

Unbelievable catch!

The other two batsmen Nitish Rana and Sanju Samson too could not do much as both were dismissed for single digit scores. Furthermore Bhuvaneshwar Kumar made an unbeaten 13 in 11 balls to drag India towards 132.

Chasing the target of 133 runs, Sri Lanka started a bit slowly in the first over. Just 1 run was scored in the first over off Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. Avishka Fernando then smashed Sakariya for two consecutive fours in the next over.

The following over saw a drama. On the 4th ball of the over, Bhuvaneshwar bowled one on the pads as the batsman played a flick towards square leg. The fielder present there was Rahul Chahar who jumped and caught the ball. But the momentum was taking him behind the ropes so he threw the ball back into the field and took the catch again.
