Royal Challengers Bangalore has set a target of 205 runs to the Kolkata Knight Riders in an important League match in Chennai. Batting first, Royal Challengers Bangalore made 204-4 on the back of some sensational batting by the duo of AB De Villiers and Glenn Maxwell. Both made 78 and 76 runs respectively, as Royal Challengers Bangalore crossed the huddle of 200 and set a target of 205.

Kolkata Knight Riders required a good opening partnership and the openers Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana started in that way. They came out all guns blazing and looked threatening for Royal Challengers Bangalore when, Gill got out.

Shubman Gill who is considered one of the most technically correct young batsman in India was amazing in the first two overs which he faced. He struck 22 runs in first 9 balls that had two fours and two sixes. One of his shot which stood out was to the speed star from New Zealand, Kyle Jamieson. it was the second over of the innings and Gil looked to cash in of the over of Kyle Jamieson.

First ball of the second over was, smashed through covers for a 4. A delivery later, Jamieson bowled a shot ball and Shubhman Gill smashed it over deep midwicket for a six by a pull shot. However it was the next 6 by Gill which was applauded by everyone. Jamieson again bowled a short delivery and the batsman was equal to the task.

He quickly made room and hit the ball over short third man for another 6. It was the second successive 6 as the pressure was On Kyle Jamieson. However he came back strongly and dismissed Gill the very next ball.

The next ball from Jamieson was the slower delivery again. Gill tried to go over the infield. But there was no pace on it and it’s timing went wrong. He could only hit it towards the mid on where the substitute fielder Dan Christian completed a smart catch. He sent Shubhman Gill back to the pavilion. The youngster only played 9 deliveries but had got Kolkata Knight Riders the start which the team needed.
