The 14th edition of IPL will begin in, 3 days time from 9th of April. Every one of eight teams are well prepared, to compete and win the trophy. The competition will be played under, the restrictions of COVID-19. Hence, there will be no crowds at the stadium to, avoid the spread of pandemic. Moreover, teams will be under strict bio bubble, and won’t be allowed to break it.

Much attention is being given to star players, and teams which have a huge fan base. The new darling of Indian cricket, Rishabh Pant too have gained a lot of fans. His sensational performances for India in last 6 months is the reason for it. This has led to him being ascended, to a stature of Superstar of Indian cricket.

Now, Pant has been made the captain, of his IPL franchise Delhi Capitals. After the injury to regular captain Shreyas Iyer, the southpaw was made the captain. He superseded senior players like, Ravi Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane. Thus, it is a testament to growing popularity of Rishabh Pant, and the position he holds in circle, of Indian cricket.

The first match which Delhi Capitals, will play under the captaincy of Pant will be against Chennai Super Kings. The CSK team will be led by none other than, former great MS Dhoni. Pant also consider Dhoni as his mentor, considering both are wicket keeper, and are quite explosive with the bat.

Pant vs Dhoni

Recently, Delhi capitals has uploaded a video, on YouTube about Rishabh Pant and his preparations for IPL. In this video, a question was asked to Pant. The query was that it will be the first time that Pant, will lead his team against MS Dhoni’s team in IPL, and what does Pant thinks of it?

“I am very excited that the first game is against Mahi Bhai. So it will be a good experience as I have learnt a lot from him and also I have some experience from my life too. So, I will try to mix that up and to do something new and different with CSK this year.” Said Pant in reply.

Basically, Pant says that he has learnt, a lot from Dhoni and so he would like to use, those learning experience. Further more, he has his own skills as well so that he can match Dhoni when it comes to the tricks, of latter as a leader.

It will be interesting, to watch the clash of former great wicket keeper of India, and the current one who is on the, path of greatness.
