Punjab Kings are facing Mumbai Indians at Chennai, in the Indian Premier League, today. After winning the toss the skipper of Punjab Kings, KL Rahul sent Mumbai Indians to bat first. His decision to bat first proved to be correct as the opener, Quinton De Kock was dismissed in the second over.
De Kock made 3 runs and became a victim of right arm spin of Deepak Hooda. The batsman tried to hit him in the air through mid on but was caught by Moises Henriques. The score of Mumbai at that time, was just seven runs. After that, Ishan Kishan came in at number 3.
It was a swap of places for him and Surya Kumar Yadav. Since, Yadav is the regular number 3 batsman, of Mumbai Indians. But, Ishan Kishan looked drastically, out of touch as he made, just six runs in 17 deliveries. He just could not, find any power or timing to score runs. So slow, was his innings that Mumbai Indians could only make, 21 runs in the powerplay.
It was the second lowest total, of Mumbai Indians ever, in the history of IPL, after the end of 6 overs. However, fortunately for Mumbai Indians his sorry innings, came to an end in the very next over. He was dismissed, by the leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi. The keeper, KL Rahul took his catch.
Rohit hits a huge six!
Kishan was dismissed, at the TV score of 26 runs in 7th over. Rohit Sharma, though on the other hand, was playing nicely. His first boundary, came on the last ball of fifth over when, he swept a full toss of Moises Henriques case in the square region for a four. After that, Fabian Allen, was hit for two constructive boundaries, through the offside region.
Then, in the tenth over, came the special Rohit Sharma six. It was, the first ball for the tenth over and Allen was bowling. It was a full toss at middle stump, and Rohit needed no second invitation. He demolished the ball over long on, for a huge six.
It was the first six of the night for Mumbai and no wonder, it came from the bat of there skipper, Rohit Sharma. Even Ritika, the wife of Rohit Sharma was overjoyed and clapped loudly. Her happy reaction was, for everyone to see.
