Asia Cup 2023 Indian squad: Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the Indian team will enter the Asia Cup from 31 October. The team for the tournament has not been announced yet. In such a situation, if Rahul is not fit, then Sanju Samson will be a part of the team as a backup wicketkeeper. Along with the wicketkeeper, Ishaan will also be in the role of backup opener.
Team India can go down with three all-rounders. Ravindra Jadeja and Akshar Patel will be in the team along with vice-captain Hardik Pandya. Hardik and Jadeja are key players. Akshar has also done consistently well but because of Jadeja, he has to sit on the bench in most of the matches.
The selectors do not have to think much about the spin attack. The team has Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal. However, either of them will be part of the same playing XI. Kuldeep has returned to his old rhythm. In such a situation, Chahal keeps on sitting continuously. Kuldeep did amazing bowling in the ODI series against the West Indies. At the same time, Chahal can destroy any batting lineup when given a chance.
The Indian team can go to the Asia Cup with 16 to 18 players. Among the fast bowlers, there will be Mohammed Shami along with Jasprit Bumrah. Siraj and Shardul Thakur are also sure to stay. Two shocking names might be the famous Krishna and Jaydev Unadkat. He was the leading fast bowler of the team before becoming famously unfit. Along with Bumrah, he is also making a comeback on the tour of Ireland. Jaydev Unadkat, who played one ODI in the series against the West Indies after 2013, has also emerged as a contender.
