Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has express his grief in a series of tweets on Monday. The 33-year old has expressed the pain and emotions that his family had gone through in recent days.
He also revealed, his cousin passed away last night after battling for life for many days. In case if you are not aware, Sureesh Raina’s uncle was killed in Pathankot on August 19. The robbers killed his uncle and injured four family members during the crime. Meanwhile, his aunt is still in very critical situation.
“What happened to my family is (sic) Punjab was beyond horrible. My uncle was slaughtered to death, my bua & both my cousins had sever (sic) injuries. Unfortunately my cousin also passed away last night after battling for life for days. My bua (aunt) is still very very critical & is on life support,” he said.
The southpaw also asked the help of Punjab police to serve justice for the culprits. He further added that his family deserve answers after such an incident. He tagged Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and Punjab Police in his tweets.
“Till date we don’t know what exactly had happened that night & who did this. I request @PunjabPoliceInd to look into this matter. We at least deserve to know who did this heinous act to them,” Raina wrote.
“Those criminals should not be spared to commit more crimes. @capt_amarinder @CMOPb,” he further added.
Reason Behind IPL Withdrawal Still Unknown
Suresh Raina has pulled out of IPL 2020 due to personal reasons last week. However, the reasons are still unknown. Although, Raina made his first social media presence since leaving for India, he did not mention anything on why he left IPL 2020.
There has been contrasting reports on the reasons but nothing was official or confirmed by the cricketer. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings are in huge mess since Suresh Raina left. The team are struggling to find a like for like replacement in the IPL pool.
The team are looking to replace Raina with young Ruturaj Gaikwad for the initial matches. It will be very difficult task for him to replace the best player in Chennai Super Kings history.
However, the youngster is still under isolation after contracting corona virus. He has recover very quickly and integrate himself into the starting lineup if Chennai Super Kings are to mount a title challenge this year. IPL 2020 will begin on September 19 in United Arab Emirates.
