The fourth match of the Indian Premier League is underway. Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals are clashing against each other. The match is being played at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. Rajasthan won the toss and elected to field first like most teams have done.

After being asked to bat, the openers of Punjab Kings came out to bat. The two of them were its skipper KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal. accordingly, for Rajasthan, their bowling was started by the debutant Chetan Sakariya.

Chetan Sakariya is a left arm swing bowler from Gujarat. At first, he was trialled by Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals. Eventually, he was bought by the latter franchise for 1.2 crores. To put that in perspective, his base price was just 20 Lakhs. Consequently, he was sold to Rajasthan for six times his base price.

Sakariya’s strength is his accuracy and swing. This was visible in when he took a five for in his debut Ranji game and finished with 29 wickets in 8 games. Naturally, when he made his IPL debut, all eyes were on him.

Chetan strikes!

The first ball from him was a lovely in swinger. KL Rahul could only defend it. Two ordinary deliveries in next five balls were hit for fours as the first over went for ten runs. In his second over, the moment came, which he was waiting for.

First two deliveries were dots to KL Rahul. The third ball was taken for a single by KL Rahul as Mayank Agarwal came on strike.

As soon as the bowler bowled the delivery, Mayank Agarwal jumped down the track in order to carve him over covers. However, the bowler had cleverly pulled back his length and the opener could only edge it to the wicket keeper Sanju Samson.

It was a great moment for the rookie Sakariya. He was so excited by his first wicket in the IPL that he started jumping up and down. No only that, he pumped his fists and screamed like there was no tomorrow. It was worth the wait for the youngster from Gujarat to have picked up a wicket of Mayank Agarwal, an international quality player.
