Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad are facing each other on the 9th day of Indian Premier League. Rohit Sharma is leading Mumbai Indians while David Warner is the skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
There are four changes for Sunrisers Hyderabad in this match. Wriddhiman Saha, T Natarajan, Shahbaz Nadeem and Jason Holder are out. They are replaced by Virat Singh, Abhishek Sharma, Khaleel Ahmad and Mujeeb Ur Rehman.
For Mumbai Indians, Marco Jansen is replaced by Adam Milne. The skipper of Mumbai, Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat. This match brought a special milestone for Rohit Sharma. He hit his 217th six in Indian Premier League.
In the third over of the match Mujibur Rahman came to bowl. On the first three balls, Mujeeb conceded just two runs to the Mumbai Indians team. After that on the fourth delivery, Rohit Sharma played a sweep shot for a four.
The next ball was hit for a Six. It was an attempted googli by Mujibur Rahman. However, the googly didn’t come off and instead, it came out as a long hop delivery. Rohit Sharma didn’t have any problem while dealing with the delivery as he smashed it over mid-wicket for a six.
Rohit Sharma becomes the highest six hitter in IPL
Rohit’s second six came in the next over. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar was bowling the fourth over. On the fifth ball of the over Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a, good length ball on the off system Rohit Sharma identified the length of the delivery quickly and got into a position. He smashed it over over deep mid wicket for a six.
Also this was the record six for Rohit Sharma. It was his 217th six in the Indian Premier League. This made him the highest six hitter in the history of IPL.
However, just when he was looking good on the wicket, Rohit Sharma was dismissed. Vijay Shankar was the bowler, as he bowled a slower delivery into the wicket.
Rohit Sharma tried to pull it, but he gave a catch to the fielder stationed there. Before getting out, he made 32 of 25 deliveries with included two 6s. Consequently, he gave his team a solid start in the match.
