The former Indian player and current commentator Sanjay Manjrekar keeps making the headlines. Be it his unique commentary or his altercations with cricket players, he hogs the limelight. Recently, it was his comments on spin sensation Ravichandran Ashwin that created quite a furore on social media.
Manjrekar claimed that he has problems with Ashwin being referred to as an all time great. The reason of this is Ashwin’s ordinary performances in SENA countries. In these countries, he is yet to take a five wicket haul. However, Ashwin chose to take the criticism in sporting way. He replied the tweet of Manjrekar about him in a funny way through a meme. Hence, the issue was settled amicably.
However, this is not the first time he has taken aim at an Indian player. He targeted Ravindra Jadeja, the other spin partner of Ravi Ashwin during the 2019 World Cup. The former India player claimed that its futile to call Jadeja as an all rounder. Moreover, he called him a bits and pieces player.
By bits and pieces players, he meant that Jadeja is neither good enough to bowl 10 overs in an ODI nor can he play a match winning innings. Although, the allrounder performed with both bat and ball in the world cup. Hence, he took on Manjrekar’s tweets one after another. The two were involved in a heated exchange on Twitter. Consequently, Jadeja ridiculed Manjrekar’s short international career as a cricket player.

Just as everything seemed to have settled down, a twitter user has leaked his personal chats with Manjrekar. In the chats, he is ridiculing the energetic all rounder for not knowing proper English. The user asked Manjrekar as to why he called Jadeja bits and pieces player. To this query, Manjrekar replied – “Jadeja doesn’t know English so he did not know the actual meaning of bits and pieces. And surely somebody spelt verbal diarrhoea for him.”
Now since the chat got leaked, it will be interesting to see the reply of Ravindra Jadeja on the matter. Whether the left arm allrounder chooses to clash with Manjrekar once again like he did previously? Or will he ignore it with some funny meme like Ashwin did will be the big question.
