Chennai Super Kings are set to play, their first match against Delhi Capitals. The match will be played on 10th of April, at Wankhede stadium, Mumbai. Owing to the COVID 19 scare, this IPL is scheduled in a, different style rather than previous ones. No team will play at home. All the teams will play their league matches, at only four diverse stadiums.
After the debacle of previous season where, CSK barely managed to avoid last position, they are now concentrating, on doing much better this season. The CSK management has reinforced themselves, with inclusion of star English all rounder, Moeen Ali and Robin Uthappa. Also making a comeback, to the team is Suresh Raina. The left hander had pulled out of the team, due to COVID scare in last season.
A rookie pacer impresses as net bowler!
This time though, Chennai are having all their, bases covered. The team will be all set to shrug off the disappointment, of previous season as a mere aberration. For this, CSK players are preparing, to the best of their abilities. Consequently, to make sure that the team members, are not exhausted in the nets, Chennai Super Kings have, roped in net bowlers.
The net bowlers will give enough, practice to batsmen so that the main bowlers, are not too tired during the training sessions. One of the net bowlers which Chennai has hired is, Fazalhaq Farooqi. The fast bowler is from Afghanistan. He has played just 1 T20 vs Zimbabwe. Farooqi is a left arm pace bowler who, bowls at a speed in excess of 140.
Dhoni and Raina struggling!
However, he instantly turned heads on his, debut session as a net bowler. Clocking in at good pace, he made the veterans like Dhoni and Raina, hop and jump. As if the two senior batsmen were, finding it problematic to face him, even Robin Uthappa and Rituraj Gayakwad, could not time their shots easily against him.
The leftie pacer impressed everyone with his pace, swing and accuracy. It was so good that some of the fans of CSK, started to cheer for his inclusion, in the main team of Chennai. Going by the way he bowled, it isn’t a far fetched idea either. Moreover, if international quality players like Dhoni and Raina are, struggling against him, chances are other batters will also, find it uncomfortable to face him.
