Yesterday Harleen Deol took one of the greatest ever catches in women’s cricket history. It was a sensational effort by the fielder as she literally flew to take the catch. These kind of catches are not uncommon in men’s game. However when it comes to women’s cricket an effort likes this surely ranks amongst the very best.
Her catch quickly became viral across the cricketing world. Players and fans as well as pundits from everywhere appreciated the stunning catch. It took the internet by storm and will surely go down as one of the candidates for an all time great catch. Such amazing was the effort that even opposition English captain Heather Knight started to clap despite her team losing a wicket.
It was a testimony to the fitness and fielding skills of Harleen Deol. Even in the men’s team of India, only extremely talented fielders like Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya can put such an effort at the boundary line.

Talking about her international cricketing career, Deol debuted in 2019. She has only played in a single ODI till date. However she could not impress with the bat and was gone for just 2 runs. The middle order batter has performed much better in the T20s. In 10 games so far, she has made 127 runs at an average of 21.16 with a strike rate of 86.40. Furthermore her highest score in the format is 52.
India might have lost in the match but the result proved to be secondary as Deol’s catch ruled the roast. As soon as the catch as taken, a lot of people including some big names shared the clipping of the fielding and praised the girl generously. The biggest name amongst this was none other than Sachin Tendulkar himself.
