Raina is the backbone of Chennai Super Kings’ batting order. He has been their main batsman since 2008 and has been consistent in every season.
However, Raina opted to stay out of the tournament due to personal reasons. The southpaw did fly to Dubai last month. But he flew back to India immediately and has confirmed on his unavailability for IPL 2020.
Chennai Super Kings could not find an ideal replacement for the cricketer. They are banking on 23-year old Ruturaj Gaikwad to play a role in the middle order. Will CSK miss Suresh Raina this year? Only time will tell!
